In the year B.E.2491, the 1st batch of Phra Kaew Morakot (Emerald Buddha) amulets was blessed and consecrated by Luang Phor Jiang, Wat Charoen Sukharam. Luang Phor Jiang was a pre-B.E.2500 top guru monk and was most famous for his Phra Kaew Morakot amulets, considered as the top Phra Kaew Morakot amulets in Thailand. His amulets have had many miraculous incidents among his devotees and he is highly respected even by other top guru monks of his generation.

The 1st batch was created using high quality glass imported from Italy. The image is of the Lord Buddha in Samadhi position and seated on top a lotus seat. Only 1 colour was created (dark green) for the 1st batch and only 300 pieces were made, which is a very limited quantity. Due to its popularity, a 2nd batch was created in B.E.2493 and a 3rd batch in B.E.2500, which were not made from the high quality imported Italian glass and were also available in other colours such as red, blue, orange, etc. However, only the 1st batch remain the most popular and collectible among all the batches due to its flawless beauty and rarity.

As the 1st batch Phra Kaew Morakot is very rare to come across, many collectors were sold the later batches as the 1st batch as many people have not seen what a genuine piece looks like. The style and material for the 1st batch and later batches are different and the experienced collectors are more careful to differentiate between the batches.

This piece shown is Phra Kaew Morakot, Roon Raek (1st Batch) of Luang Phor Jiang in its mint and unworn condition. It is also verified to be an authentic piece and issued an authentication card by Sammakom association.
