This batch of Phra Somdej amulets was created by a layman disciple of Luang Phor Phrom named Khun Moh Somsuk Khong Urai in B.E.2515.
The mould was reused from the Lang Trayang (back with ink-stamp) batch but the material used for this batch is older sacred powder Phong Ittihjae created by Luang Phor Phrom, which is whitish yellow as compared to the Lang Trayang batch.
A total of 2,000 pieces were created in 2 moulds:
- Phim Than Riab (full base step)
- Phim Than Rong (hollow base step)
It is known that Phim Than Rong pieces were made lesser than Phim Than Riab pieces and hence are much rarer.
This batch of Phra Somdej amulets was consecrated and blessed twice by Luang Phor Phrom, the first time in the year B.E.2515 and the second time during the auspicious Sao Ha day on 7th April B.E.2516 at 5 p.m. in the evening. This batch of Phra Somdej amulets was never distributed in the temple and was only given out to devotees who performed robes giving to monks during the Kathina ceremony in B.E.2516.
It was recorded that after the consecration ceremony was completed, Luang Phor Phrom picked up a handful of the Phra Somdej amulets which he had blessed and said to the devotees who were at the ceremony, “Take these amulets and test them with any firearms. All the firearms will break when you attempt to fire.” No one dared to attempt to test the amulets with their guns as they were afraid their guns will break like what Luang Phor Phrom mentioned. Therefore, this batch of Phra Somdej amulets was named Roon Peun Taek (broken gun batch).
