In the year B.E.2507, a batch of statues and amulets were created and blessed in Wat Phra Si Rattana Mahathat, or colloquially referred to as Wat Yai (big temple), in Phitsanulok province. The consecration ceremony was organised in commemoration of King Naresuan the Great and hence the name of the batch Roon Maha Jakkhaphat (Great Emperor).

Wat Phra Si Rattana Mahathat is most famous for their Phra Phuttha Chinnaraj statues. The consecration ceremony of 19th April B.E.2507 was one of the biggest consecration ceremony and the most famous amulet produced in that batch was the 1st batch of Phra Kring Naresuan amulet.

The famous guru monks who were invited to the blessing ceremony included:

  • Somdej Phra Wannarat, Wat Phra Chetuphon (Wat Pho), Bangkok, president of the ceremony
  • Acharn Sawai Summano, Wat Rajnadda, Bangkok, led the chanting during consecration
  • Luang Phor Boon Mee, Wat Tha Satoi, Chiangmai
  • Luang Phor Pi, Wat Lan Hoi, Sukothai
  • Kruba Wang, Wat Ban Daen, Tak
  • Luang Phor Niyom, Wat Khuhasawan, Phitsanulok
  • Luang Phor Thob, Wat Chon Daen, Phetchabun
  • Luang Phor Khean, Samnak Tham Khun Naen, Pichit
  • Luang Phor Teang, Wat Khao Roop Chang, Pichit
  • Luang Phor Thawee, Wat Rong Chang, Pichit
  • Luang Phor Gan, Wat Khao Kaew, Nakhon Sawan
  • Luang Phor Pae, Wat Pikunthong, Singburi
  • Luang Phor Aan, Wat Phrayatikaram, Ayuthaya
  • Luang Phor Jaem, Wat Wang Daeng Neua, Ayuthaya
  • Luang Pu Toh, Wat Pradoochimplee, Bangkok
  • Luang Phor Mui, Wat Don Rai, Suphanburi
  • Phor Than Khlai, Wat Suan Khan, Nakhon Si Thammarat
  • Phor Than Boon Rod, Wat Pradoo Pattanaram, Nakhon Si Thammarat
  • Acharn Nam, Wat Don Sala, Phattalung

A batch of Roop Lor Phra Bucha Siwalee was also produced in this batch. However, the design is very similar to Luang Phor Chaeng’s (Wat Bang Pang, Nonthaburi) Roop Lor Phra Bucha Siwalee and has often been mistaken for Luang Phor Chaeng’s pieces. This is due to the popularity of Luang Phor Chaeng’s Siwalee statues but the batch created by Wat Phra Si Rattana Mahathat is very much rarer. The main difference between the 2 statues is at the base, where the Yant and design is slightly different. The most important difference is that a code “Narai Pratab Loke” (Narai Standing On The World) was stamped at the back of the base on every piece created by Wat Phra Si Rattana Mahathat in B.E.2507.

This piece shown is Roop Lor Phra Bucha Siwalee, Nur Samrit in its well-preserved condition.
